What makes Trolli products stand out?

What does IFS stand for?

IFS stands for International Featured Standards and is a system, that ensures quality in food consumer products. All production facilities are certified via the framework of the program since years. „IFS“ excells lawful requirements by far and offers highest product safety with the integrated HACCP system.

Which gelatine are you using?

To get the unique bite, we only use high-grade gelantine from carefully selected pork and cowhide. To be sure only top notch qualitiy is selected, ingredients are tested regularly by independent testing labs, and are awarded since years.

Which of your products are suitable for vegans and vegetarians?

Our products are suitable for vegans and vegetarians to enjoy. All the items we have marked with the vegan label of the European Vegetarian Union contain no gelatin or other animal products. Instead, we use gelling agents like starch or pectin. Vegetarian products may contain some bee wax or milk components, which we clearly differentiate from our vegan items. Our vegan and vegetarian products are marked with a symbol. 

Do you have HALAL products available?

Yes, we care about our customers' preferences. That's why we offer a Halal range produced with Halal-certified beef gelatine. We also ensure that our Halal products comply with Halal requirements with our raw material suppliers and that our flavors and fruit extracts contain no alcohol. You can recognize these products by the Trolli Halal logo.

Do you use AZO colorants?

No, Trolli GmbH has decided not to use AZO colorants. We value the ability for our customers to enjoy our products without worry. AZO colorants are synthetic dyes and are suspected of causing hyperactivity.

What is behind the emulsifier E471?

Emulsifiers are used to combine two immiscible substances, such as oil and water. The emulsifier E471 is a compound of fatty acids. At Trolli, this emulsifier has a vegetable origin.

Why is lactic acid used in vegan/lactose-free products?

Most of our products contain lactic acid. The use of the term "milk" in the acid has a historical background. It was first isolated from sour milk in the 18th century, which is why it was named "lactic acid". Nowadays, lactic acid is mainly produced from starch or sugar and has no animal connection except for its name. Of course, we make sure that our suppliers only deliver vegan lactic acid. This approach is also a requirement for carrying the V-label.
